Joseph Morgan to star in Gone Baby Gone TV Adap

With the final season of The Originals in the bag already the show’s lead, Joseph Morgan, is looking ahead to the future. TV Line has revealed that Joseph has booked the lead in a Gone Baby Gone TV adap. The book by author Dennis Lehane has already been adapted to the big screen back in 2007, with Casey Affleck playing the role of private detective Patrick Kenzie. This is the role that Morgan will be taking in the small screen version.

Fox have greenlit the pilot written by Black Sails co-creator Robert Levine and directed by Phillip Noyce. The untitled project centers on private detectives Patrick Kenzie (Morgan) and Angela Gennaro who, armed with their wits, their street knowledge and an undeniable chemistry, right wrongs the law can’t in the working-class Boston borough of Dorchester.

The role of Angela has yet to be cast (I volunteer as tribute) but we will keep an eye on this as it develops. I know several of us here at FANdemonium Towers are keen to hear Joseph pull off a Boston accent. Our speculatory wheels are turning and we wonder if perhaps this project is part of the reason why Joseph was at that table read for FOX’s The Gifted several months back. He said he was there as a favour for Bryan Singer and FOX, and would see what it led to. Could this be the result?
