Breakout Star Wars actor John Boyega to star in Pacific Rim Sequel
Everyone’s favourite former First Order Trooper, John Boyega, yesterday night tweeted that he was going to be starring in the sequel to 2013’s Monsters versus Giant Robots smash ’em up, Pacific Rim.
I'll be taking on the Pacific Rim franchise with Steven S.Deknight directing. Very excited!

He then followed that up with another tweet
So happy! My company UpperRoom Productions founded by myself & @MrFemiOguns, will co-produce #PacificRim2 alongside @Legendary

Yeah, not only is Boyega going to star but he’s also going to co-produce the movie, which will be helmed by Steven DeKnight (Marvel’s Daredevil) after Guillermo Del Toro declined to return to that role. Guillermo Del Toro will be writing the screenplay and will produce.
Boyega will play the (as yet unnamed) son of Idris Elba’s Stacker Pentecost. Hopefully he will get a line that’s as memorable and quotable as Stacker’s immortal “Today, we are cancelling the apocalypse!” from the first movie. There’s no word yet on any other cast members, which means so far, no sign of Charlie Hunnam reprising his role as Raleigh Becket or Max Martini as Herc Hansen.
We will keep an eye on this story and bring you anything else that develops.
