‘Game of Thrones’ Launches Mysterious Season 5 Website, Teaser Video

You might need the sight of a Warg to unravel this Game of Thrones mystery.

The official Game of Thrones Twitter account has tweeted a link to a new website, ThreeEyedRaven.com, which invites users to sign up for notifications via Twitter or text message. If you sign up via Twitter, you get a direct message teasing

“You now have the power of #TheSight. Keep watch for visions of the future.”

This could only mean, and of course we are totally guessing this will eventually lead to a season five trailer. HBO declined to give any hints, but promised that those who signed up for updates would be able to piece together what it’s al about.

Along with a link to the website, the Game of Thrones account tweeted a video featuring a voiceover of Melisandre (Carice van Houten) telling Arya (Maisie Williams), “I see a darkness in you.” Cut to flashes of Arya stabbing a man with Needle, holding Jaqen Hagar’s coin,  and other old footage.

If you need a refresher course, here’s the full Melisandre line from season three:

“I see a darkness in you. And in that darkness, eyes staring back at me. Brown eyes, blue eyes, green eyes. Eyes you’ll shut forever. We will meet again.”

That line proved to be quite true as Arya has gone on to up her body count significantly.

In the show, Bran (Isaac Hempstead Wright) has been pursuing the Three-Eyed Raven — finally meeting him in the season four finale. But Bran won’t actually appear in season five, so it’s interesting that HBO is using that as the teaser. Perhaps that portion of the tale will be carried on through Arya this season.

Game of Thrones season five has no premiere date set, but it is expected for spring 2015. The cast recently signed rich deals to take them through season seven (should their characters live that long). Meanwhile, Thrones writer George R.R. Martin clocked in at No. 3 on The Hollywood Reporter‘s list of Hollywood’s Most Powerful Authors, released Tuesday.
