Planet Zoo – One of the best zoo simulation games in a long time!
Welcome back gaming fans 😉 it’s been a while that I’ve talked about a new game but now it’s time again. The first time I stumbled across Planet Zoo was about 1 year ago. I stumbled upon their facebook page a while back and got hooked immediately. At that point there wasn’t a release date announced but I followed them anyway. We as fans got nearly daily videos and infos on the animals and everything else you needed to know about the game. On November 5th the day came and the game was released. I’ve been playing Planet Zoo for the last few days and decided to give you all a review to get a short overview of the game – so here we go!
Gameplay
Players are able to build a zoo, with more than 50 animals in total. Animals, controlled by artificial intelligence, behave similarly to their real-life counterparts. For instance, wolves adopt a pack mentality. Each species has its own requirements and needs that players must satisfy. Each animal has their own genome, which can be modified to change its life expectancy, size, health and fertility. The game also features a breeding system, and with elements such as inbreeding having negative consequences on the animals. The game features the career mode with different missions and tasks. You can create your own park with unlimited money in the sandbox mode. There is also a Franchise mode where you can trade animals online.

Review
To be honest at first I was kinda depressed because all my zoo’s went bancrupt pretty fast. That isn’t neceserry a bad thing tho. The game has thought through everything. Every animal has it’s own needs and develops differently. For example, a lemur will be sad if there aren’t enough places for climbing, an elephant wants to have short grass, and the macaques need snow. If animals need snow or warmer temperatures you need an air-condition or a heating machine.
The game is giving you tons of stuff to do and decisions to make. You not only have to think about your animals – you also have to think about your guests, the stuff and many other details.
Planet Zoo is definitely one of the most detailed zoo simulations I’ve ever seen. Compared to games like Wildlife Park, Planet Zoo is a whole new thing and expands the zoo simulation to a whole new level!
At first you’ll have some troubles to get into the whole process but the career mood gets you into that pretty good. It is definitely the most detailed simulation I’ve ever seen and you really need to take your time to build up a succesfull zoo.
Of course, like every game, this one has some flaws as well BUT the good and amazing things overweight for sure.
To finish my review in a few words. GO BY PLANET ZOO! It is definitely the best, and most detailed zoo simulation game that is out there! If you take your time and really think it through, you’ll have a very succesfull zoo.
