Amazing news for all the Deborah Harkness book fans out there! A Discovery of Witches will be up on our screens THIS fall!
We’ve got our first glimpse of the beloved series in November last year and lots of fans went crazy to see this series finally onscreen. This took six years in the making and now we FINALLY know when it will all start!

Who’s the cast of A Discovery of Witches?
Casting was first announced last fall as production began in Wales and here we go with the talented cast that we know so far and their roles in the new series:

- Valarie Pettiford (The Blacklist) as Emily (Em) Mather
- Matthew Goode as Matthew Clairmont

- Daniel Ezra (BB’s Undercover) as Nathaniel Wilson
- Edward Bluemel (House Finch) as Marcus
- Freddy Thorpe (Overdrive) as Matthieu Beny

What can we expect from A Discovery of Witches?
The show centers around a powerful witch at Oxford named Diana Bishop, a science historian who also just happens to be a witch with a troubling past. That has resulted in her suppressing her magical tendencies. When her research leads her to uncover a mysterious missing manuscript in Oxford’s Bodleian Library, she sets in motion a series of events that will lead her on an adventure across time and continents. She discovers the secrets of her past and the truth about the origin of magical beings, which include witches, vampires, and deamons.
Along the way, she falls in love with a mysterious vampire named Matthew and turns to her overly protective aunts, Sarah and Emily, for assistance as she and Matthew work to uncover long-sought truths about magical individuals.
Their budding love is tested as they are catapulted into a dangerous mystery surrounding Diana’s untapped power and Ashmole 782, an elusive tome that wichtes, vampires, and daemons alike would do anything to obtain.
A Discovery of Witches follows the series written by the best selling author Deborah Harkness and Season 1 will be covering the first novel of the series.
The show is set to premiere on Sky this fall. The show is produced by Bad Wolf and Sky Productions.
If you ask me – this show already sounds totally amazing. I can’t wait to get my eyes on the first episode of this show.
