The film, Narc is reportedly on the verge of being turned into a new Television series with rapper, Eminem listed as co-producer. According to Deadline.com, the film’s director, Joe Carnahan has written a script for the Paramount-produced TV series and will act as Executive Producer for the series along with the Detroit rapper. Narc, currently regarded a ‘crime thriller’, will also have its music supervised by Eminem. The film was originally released in 2002 with a story focusing on two detectives attempting to solve the murder of an undercover cop. Eminem is expected to release new music on the soundtrack to the upcoming film titled Southpaw featuring Jake Gyllenhaal and 50 Cent.
Like in the movie, which starred Ray Liotta and Jason Patric as Detroit police detectives investigating the murder of an undercover cop, the city will have a major presence on the show, also a crime thriller. It was put in development by Paramount TV about a year ago.
Attaching top musicians to TV series has been a successful practice, with Timbaland helping Fox breakout Empire and T Bone Burnett getting ABC’s Nashville off the ground in Season 1.
