With the news that Netflix’s hit series Daredevil has started filming its second season, we are also getting exciting casting news. It was announced today that they have cast Elodie Yung as Elektra Natchios. Elektra is a mysterious woman from Matt Murdock’s (Charlie Cox) past, whose exotic ways may just be too much for Murdock to handle.

“After a worldwide search, we found in Elodie the perfect actress to embody both Elektra’s impressive and deadly physicality, as well as her psychological complexity,” said Executive Producer and Head of Marvel Television, Jeph Loeb. “Paired with Charlie as Matt Murdock, the two will bring one of the most beloved and tumultuous comic book relationships to life with all the accompanying sparks and spectacular action sequences the show is known for.”
Reference was made in the first season that major Marvel characters would most likely be revealed in later episodes. This is the second major casting announcement that was made for the upcoming season. Earlier this year, it was announced that Jon Bernthal would be joining the cast as Frank Castle (Punisher).
Yung and Bernthal will join the amazing cast from Season One that includes Charlie Cox (Matt Murdock/Daredevil), Deborah Ann Woll (Karen Page), Elden Henson (Foggy Nelson), Rosario Dawson (Claire Temple) and Vincent D’Onofrio (Wilson Fisk/Kingpin).
All episodes from the first season are available on Netflix.
