WATCH: Bohemian Rhapsody Teaser Trailer Starring Rami Malek
20th Century Fox dropped the teaser trailer earlier this morning for Bohemian Rhapsody. The biopic stars Rami Malek as Freddie Mercury. The film focuses on a 15-year period, beginning with the formation of Queen and ending with their performance at Live Aid in 1985.
Synopsis
Bohemian Rhapsody is a foot-stomping celebration of Queen, their music and their extraordinary lead singer Freddie Mercury, who defied stereotypes and shattered convention to become one of the most beloved entertainers on the planet. The film traces the meteoric rise of the band through their iconic songs and revolutionary sound, their near-implosion as Mercury’s lifestyle spirals out of control, and their triumphant reunion on the eve of Live Aid, where Mercury, facing a life-threatening illness, leads the band in one of the greatest performances in the history of rock music. In the process, cementing the legacy of a band that were always more like a family, and who continue to inspire outsiders, dreamers and music lovers to this day. (Source)

Production
Principal production began in September 2017 and ended in January 2018, But, what would a movie be without a little bit of controversy? First, there seemed to be a little bit of fandom backlash. Would Malek be able to portray Freddie Mercury to the perfection the fandom wants? Personally I think he’s done a stellar job. This may be due to his losing himself in the character, which many actors have a hard time doing. But then again, that’s just my opinion.
The second controversy of shooting was the firing of Bryan Singer. Singer was director from September 2017 until December 2017. Rumor is that he was absent from set on multiple occasions and clashed with both cast and crew. As a result of the firing, Dexter Fletcher was hired shortly after; filming was complete not that long after.

With the release of today’s teaser trailer, 20th Century Fox also announced a fan contest. Put Me In Bohemian is your chance to have your voice added to the movie. Go on over and try if you have a great voice! It could be your shot!
