How ‘Arrow’ And ‘Gotham’ Crossed Over – And Why It’ll Never Happen Again

Marc Guggenheim and Danny Cannon explain how Queen Consolidated ended up on ‘Gotham.’

Eagle eyed fans recently spotted the Queen Consolidated logo in Gotham City’s skyline, and producer Danny Cannon reveals how that came about right here. Arrow‘s Marc Guggenheim meanwhile clears up whether the Dollmaker being on Gotham is leading to more “crossovers” with Arrow!

c7fn09DDespite the fact that Arrow and Gotham are on different networks and seemingly set in very different periods of time, speculation that the two worlds will somehow interact hasn’t stopped (especially after the Queen Consolidated logo was spotted in the latter show’s second episode). Bear in mind that Wayne Industries has been referenced in The Flash, but executive producer Marc Guggenheim still had no idea how this Arrow Easter Egg came about when asked by MTV News.

“You know, it’s a great question!”

he told the site in a recent interview.

“The internet did point out to me the Queen Consolidated [logo] – or what looked like a Queen consolidated Easter egg. I’m still actually trying to find out how intentional that was. Let me just say the investigation is ongoing.”

However, Gotham producer Danny Cannon did have some answers, but they may disappoint you!

“I gotta tell you, it was completely unintentional. Somebody spotted it in the cutting room, but we move so fast, we were like, ‘that’s cool, leave it in! don’t talk about it!’ We were stealing – the visual effects guys were stealing neon letters from other places, and that was one that worked. But it was unintentional.”

There’s that solved then, but what about The Dollmaker recently making an appearance in Gotham after also being featured in Arrow? They’re the same guy, right? Wrong.

“Well I think that is very clearly an example of not a crossover,” Guggenheim confirmed. “That was a completely different take on the Dollmaker character from the comics than we had last year. So that was a completely separate occurrence.”
