We GO for Rob and GO Campaign

It’s that time of year again! Robert Pattinson fans unite to celebrate the birth of one of their favorite actors. For the third year, GO Campaign has been chosen as the charity of choice amongst his fans to donate money for in his name. In 2015, after being involved with the campaign for years, Pattinson was named an ambassador.  Since fans know this charity is near and dear to him, it was an easy choice to make when deciding what they wanted to do for this years birthday project.  So far, throughout the different projects the fans have banded together for, we have raised over $200,000 in his name for GO Campaign alone.

Before I get into the project for the year, here is a little background information on the charity.

GO Campaign was founded a little over 10 years ago by Scott Fifer (CEO), Jill Goldman, Vicki Kennedy and Daryl Offer.  Their mission is to provide children equal opportunities to education, medical care, shelter, food and clean water.  They partner with local heroes to develop programs to provide children and young adults with basic needs.  They provide these opportunities through small grants to grassroot organizations.

Since 2012, GO Campaign has expanded its mission to include at-risk children living in the United States.

The Birthday Project

So this year, the group of fans (@RobPBirthdayProject) has once again teamed with GO Campaign.  This years goal: $23000 to be raised by the end of May to help support 200 refugee girls in the US.  The name of the campaign is 31 Reasons Why. Funds raised will help GO Campaign support Girlforward in addressing the needs of adolescent refugee girls. Some of the donation amounts include:

$10 donation, you can provide 1 refugee girl with access to after-school tutoring services for one month

$35 donation, you can provide healthy snacks for 100 refugee girls for one week of tutoring.

$100 donation, you can train a mentor so they can provide one year of support to a girl refugee.

If you’d like to donate

I know that I donate every year, not just because it’s Rob, but because I believe this is one of the better organizations out there.  So if you would like to read more about Rob’s birthday project, click here.  Even if you can’t donate, just take a look around their page, it’s amazing what this group does for children of the world.
