After discovering he is a descendant of the Assassins, Callum Lynch unlocks his genetic memories in order to relive the adventures of his ancestor, Aguilar, in 15th Century Spain, learning the skills and knowledge he needs to oppose the Knights Templar in the present day.
The film is based on the Assassin’s Creed video games series from Ubisoft, and is set in the same world as the games, but isn’t an adaptation. Instead, the film will introduce new assassins in a storyline that fits in with the video games, the comicbooks, and novels that have come before.
Assassin’s Creed is directed by Justin Kurzel and stars Michael Fassbender, Marion Cotillard, Michael K. Williams, Ariane Labed, Jeremy Irons, and Brendan Gleeson.
