Could Harry Potter be coming to TV?
In a deal first reported by The Wall Street Journal, NBC Universal has acquired the rights to all 8 Harry Potter films and the new spin-off film Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. The deal includes not only the rights for showing the films on their network, but the rights for development of future TV projects and theme park developments.
With Lionsgate bringing the popular book series Divergent to television, could this be the beginning of a new trend? Will we start seeing more movies spin off into television?
I think Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them has enormous potential as a television series. There are also plenty of ancillary characters that fans would love to see brought to life on the silver screen. A Luna Lovegood spin off would be my dream!
