Grab your Parabatai and get ready, ABC Family has commissioned Shadowhunters, a series based on the incredibly popular, best-selling The Mortal Instruments book series by author Cassandra Clare.
For those of you who aren’t familiar with the books, they follow Clary Fray, a young girl who finds out on her birthday that she is descended from a line of Shadowhunters, human-angel hybrids who hunt demons.
The books have already been adapted in the form of the 2013 movie starring Lily Collins as Clary Fray and Jamie Campbell Bower as Jace.
The show is set to go into production in Toronto in May, no word yet though on casting or a premiere date. We will, of course, keep you posted!
