WATCH: gen:LOCK Official Trailer

Fifty years in the future, an oppressive authoritarian force threatens to conquer the world. A daring team is recruited to pilot a new form of weaponized neuroscience that powers devastating mecha, but they must be willing to sacrifice everything to save the world.

WELL DAMN!

I mean, I know I already saw the first episode, but this new gen:LOCK Official Trailer for season 1 has me even more hyped.

Story teases

This trailer basically hints at all the elements that seem to make up gen:LOCK, as a good trailer should. Action, the formation of the gen:LOCK team, more action, a little bit of romance, and a load more action. This could have just been a full on giant robot smash-em-up and I’d probably have still loved it. But that’s not what Rooster Teeth do. They do like to subvert expectations. So gen:LOCK gives us giant robots, but also a team with human motivations for what they do.

If you are as excited as I am for this show then you don’t have long to wait. gen:LOCK premieres on RoosterTeeth.com on January 26th (straight after the RWBY Vol. 6 finale) with the first TWO episodes. The first will be free for everyone to watch. Episode 2 and subsequent episodes will be exclusive for paying members. gen:LOCK will premiere weekly on Saturdays with the finale episode premiering March 9.

Clare Hemsworth

Hey, I'm Clare, aka Ciara or C. My current fandoms are RWBY and The Last Kingdom along with a bunch of other stuff I tend to let build up and then binge! I'm a keen, albeit amateur, cosplayer and love attending cons in various cosplays. I'm also the resident comic book girl around these parts, especially small press comics, so if you've got an indie book you want reviewed, I'm your gal! When I'm not doing the fangirl thing I am a keen long-distance hiker, having completed Te Araroa in New Zealand and The Pacific Crest Trail on the West Coast of the US.
