Sam Heughan of Outlander Has His Theories…
You know that Sam had auditioned a few times for a role on Game of Thrones, right?
But now that Sam is starring in his own fantastic Starz series (returning FINALLY Saturday) could there actually be some sort of Game of Thrones/Outlander crossover in the works?
Absolutely! If Sam gets his way.
Turns out, the Scottish actor is very intrigued(as our we by this fact) by the idea that Game of Thrones author George R.R. Martin and Outlander author Diana Gabaldon are already meeting up on the regular.
“I believe [George and Diana] sit down regularly and have lunches,” Sam told me during E’s whiskey-tasting sit down. “There could be like, this Outlander/Game of Thrones crossover. Maybe Diana could put some dragons somewhere into Outlander…Yeah, spinoff series!”
For his part, Sam seems to have no hard feelings about not getting ever getting a part on Game of Thrones.
“I love that show so much. It’s really good,” he says of the HBO hit. “They’ve got an amazing ensemble. I’ve met some of the actors and I’m such a fanboy. I absolutely love it.”
And besides, rejection is all in a day’s work when you’re an actor.
“That was just one of many, many [roles] I never got,” Sam admitted with a laugh. “I guess that’s the life of a jobbing actor. You have periods where you don’t get anything, and then you have periods where it’s very busy.
