June 10th. The date the Warcraft movie hits theatres.
Warcraft? I hear you say… that’s not your usual FANdemoniumNetwork… Well get ready, cos whether you’re a gamer or not, this movie has a kick ass line up and you’re probably going to be seeing a lot of it around here over the next couple of months. Why you ask? Well cos I’ve been playing World of Warcraft since the game launched over a decade ago and I know I’m not alone in waiting for this movie.
The movie is directed by Duncan Jones, who previously directed the terrific Moon and if the images he has been dropping on twitter are anything to go by then fans of the movie are in for a treat. The Stormwind City set pics for example are bursting with in game detail!

And now today the official Warcraft movie tumblr has dropped posters for the top ten big name characters for the movie and we have assembled them (plus the official blurb for each character) for your perusal and edification.
GARONA – THE SURVIVOR
Garona is the unbroken survivor who will join Lothar and Durotan to save a world they can all call home.
Garona Halforcen is played by Paula Patton (Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol)
GUL’DAN – THE INVADER
A tyrannical orc shaman wielding dark powers, Gul’dan sees all life as fuel for the Horde.
Gul’dan is played (under some heavy CGI) by Daniel Wu (Into The Badlands)
DUROTAN – THE REBEL
Chieftain of the Frostwolf Clan, Durotan will do whatever it takes to find a home for his people.
Durotan is played by Toby Kebbell (Fantastic Four (2015))
LOTHAR – THE WARRIOR
Forged in the fire of battle, the brave knight Lothar has sacrificed everything to become defender of Azeroth.
Anduin Lothar is played by the delicious Travis Fimmel, yep, Ragnar Lothbrok himself from Vikings!
LLANE – THE KING
Leading from the front-lines, the noble King Llane is a symbol of strength in a time of war.
King Llane Wrynn is played by Dominic Cooper (Agent Carter, Preacher)
ORGRIM – THE DEFIANT
Wielder of the mighty Doomhammer, Orgrim is fiercely loyal to his Chieftain Durotan.
Orgrim Doomhammer is played by Robert Kazinsky (Pacific Rim, True Blood)
LADY TARIA – THE QUEEN
In an age of beasts and battlegrounds, Lady Taria’s grace and diplomacy provide a beacon of hope to the people.
Lady Taria Wrynn is played by Ruth Negga (Agents of SHIELD, Preacher). FUN FACT – Taria is married to Llane, played by Dominic Cooper. Ruth Negga is about to hit TV screens playing Tulip O’Hare in Preacher, the girlfriend of Jesse Custer who is played by… yep… Dominic Cooper!
BLACKHAND – THE DESTROYER
Driven by cruel ambition and fueled by rage, Blackhand the Destroyer is war incarnate.
Blackhand is played by Clancy Brown (Sleepy Hollow, Daredevil S2)
MEDIVH – THE GUARDIAN
As the all-powerful protector known as the Guardian, Medivh wields magic as a weapon during times of global crisis.
Medivh is played by Ben Foster (30 Days of Night)
KHADGAR – THE SEEKER
A rogue mage hungry for adventure, Khadgar uses his ever-growing powers to seek the truth behind the invasion of Azeroth.
Khadgar is played by Ben Schnetzer (The Book Thief)
The movie also stars familiar faces like Ryan Robbins and the one and only Daniel Cudmore. Daniel doesn’t have a named role so we will just have to wait and see what he brings on screen.
