Wales Comic Con 2017 Returns

Wales Comic Con 2017 Returns

It seems like forever ago now that we trooped up to Wrexham for the first instalment of this year’s Wales Comic Con. Luckily, we don’t have to wait TOO much longer for a return visit. Wales Comic Con 2017 returns to the Glyndwr University on the 2nd and 3rd of December for what looks set to be their biggest and best event yet.

If you read our report from this April’s convention then you’ll know that organiser Jaime Milner and his team at Mercury Events have done a hell of a lot of work to improve the event over the last few years. With 2 months still to go the line up for December is, quite frankly, remarkable. Guests from a wide hosts of fandoms will be in attendance. Film, TV, comics, sports stars and games will all be represented among the 60+ guests named so far.

The convention boasts multiple guests from shows like Supernatural as well as a comprehensive line up of Middle Earth guests from both The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit trilogies. Wales Comic Con regular (and one of the reasons we keep going back 😉 ) Matt Ryan is also confirmed for this event.

Photo Oppotunities

So far group photo opportunities have been confirmed for Overwatch, Bones, Game Of Thrones and Walking Dead guests. These are limited and are available to purchase through Wales Comic Con’s website.

More group photo opportunities may be announced over time but are not guaranteed.

Panels

The weekend will also feature two days worth of panels from attending guests. So far the organisers have confirmed panels for The Walking Dead and Buffy The Vampire Slayer. These are free to attend as long as you have a ticket to the event, but may require queueing. A full schedule is usually published a short time before the event to allow you to plan.

Given how much larger the event is this year, compared to previous, I’m interested to see what changes Jaime and team are making to the layout of the show. With so many more guests it’s certainly going to be one hectic weekend. And we can’t wait!

For full details, including autograph and photo op prices, and to buy tickets, head over to WalesComicCon’s website. You can also join the official Facebook group which shares all guest announcements.

Tickets to the event are available through the Wales Comic Con website and they are selling FAST. There is also due to be another guest announcement at 7pm tonight. We’ll retweet the announcement when we get it so keep an eye on our twitter account!

About author(s)

Clare Hemsworth

Hey, I'm Clare, aka Ciara or C. My current fandoms are RWBY and The Last Kingdom along with a bunch of other stuff I tend to let build up and then binge! I'm a keen, albeit amateur, cosplayer and love attending cons in various cosplays. I'm also the resident comic book girl around these parts, especially small press comics, so if you've got an indie book you want reviewed, I'm your gal! When I'm not doing the fangirl thing I am a keen long-distance hiker, having completed Te Araroa in New Zealand and The Pacific Crest Trail on the West Coast of the US.
