Twilight The Phenomenon Was Born On This Day

Twilight

On this day June 2, 2003, Twilight was born.  Stephenie Meyer had a dream and her dream became four books that became five movies and then a world wide phenomenon.

I thought instead of going on and on about about the Twilight, I figured a would do a Q&A with my follow twihards.

So tell me ladies, do you remember how you felt when you finished reading Twilight?

PB: For me I went right into reading New Moon, cause it was out already when I started them. I had to wait for the next one and I was pissed.

Jenn: I didn’t start reading the saga at the very beginning. But I was told to read it because it was, “the dirtiest clean book I’ll ever read.” So I took the book and I read it in one night. All I knew was that, I wanted more and I was at my Barnes & Noble when they opened for New Moon.

Tracy: I was told after I watch Twilight (and my FB status was I wouldn’t get hooked…those who know me can tell you the opposite happened) to read the book, so I did. Twilight got me back to reading again and I can’t thank Stephenie enough for that. I  read Twilight, New Moon and Eclipse as quick as I could because at the time Eclipse was still in theaters. I just couldn’t get enough and I was glad I didn’t have to wait to read the rest of the books.

What is your favorite part of Twilight?

PB: the meadow, there is just something about that part that I love so much

Jenn: One part? Gah, that’s like picking your fave kid. I think the fact that it transported me back to my first love and all the butterflies.

Tracy: I second the Meadow, I actually read that part over and over a few times. Watching/Reading about Bella and Edward falling in love each for the 1st time and just knowing that they were meant to be together Forever.

What did you like better the book or the Movie?

PB: Book always the book, Honestly I loved Midnight Sun more but that is another story all together

Jenn: Honestly, the book. I did love that our fave series came to the big screen. I just think (as I am sure most people do) it could have been better. The movies did get better after Twilight, though.

Tracy: Though I saw the movie before I read the book, the book was definitely better. Just like any Book to Movie there are always parts missing. The 1 thing about seeing the movie before reading was I knew what all the characters looked like so I could picture them while reading.

Why do you think Twilight had such a lasting affect on you?

PB: I have always been a reader and this story made me fall in love with reading all over again. I was in a dark place when I first read this book. I was going through a really tough break up and these book were my happy places. My escape from my hell.

Jenn: I hadn’t picked up a book and read it in years, and Twilight rekindled my love of books and reading. I was needing to get “transported” some place, as I was dealing a death in my life, and Twilight transported me some place else. It was about a real place with mythical vampires, what was not to love.

Tracy: Twilight brought me back to reading and I never realized how much I truly enjoyed reading till I started reading Twilight. Because of Twilight I have truly made some of the best friends a girl can ask for…sisters actually. The Forever Friendships have helped me through some tough times. I’ve gone to Premiers, ComicCon and Forks and have made some of the most amazing memories all because of Twilight.

Was there a scene that wasn’t in the movie Twilight that you would have liked to see?

PB: The book had so much detail in them falling in love, I wish that was portrayed better in the movie. The movie was rushed but I understood that.

Jenn: There was so much of Edward and Bella falling in love that we didn’t get to see on the big screen. I wish there was more, but at least I read the book so I knew what was going on.

Tracy: I totally agree with PB and Jenn I wish there was more of Edward and Bella falling in love. I also wish the blood type scene was in the movie…I think a lot of fans would’ve liked to see that on the big screen.

Last Question Team Edward or Team Jacob?

PB: Team Emmett hahahah

Jenn: At the time of Twilight, I was Team Edward… But I am now and forever (see what I did there) Team Volturi.

Tracy: Team Edward from the moment he walked into the Cafeteria…remember I saw the movie 1st.
