The Executioner And Her Way Of Life “Port City Of Libelle” Review
The Executioner And Her Way Of Life “Port City Of Libelle” is the seventh episode of the Virgin Road anime. Following the action packed episode 6. This episode takes a slower turn, however it also takes a much more sinister turn at the end. Menou and Akari make their way using the Pilgrim Path to Libelle, a port city that has the Pure Concept of Pandemonium gone out of control on it’s outskirts. Menou struggle with herself and admits to Momo it never occurred to her to use Pandemonium to kill Akari, worrying she’s starting to hesitate, she immediately takes Akari out on a boat and drugs her sending her into Pandemonium. This isn’t Akari’s first time there though so she knows where she is and what’s happened but something happens that future Akari doesn’t remember but we don’t see what it is. She resets next to Menou. The episode ends with the current leader of the “Fourth” Manon randomly killing a random unnamed girl that was seen in the beginning of the episode. Yet another twist!
Akari Can’t Be Killed
This episode was brilliant on many fronts. It introduced a mysterious new, what I assume will become, main character, Manon. However it also established that even if future Akari doesn’t recognise something that’s meant to happen in her future, if something is slightly off, she still can’t be killed, unless of course she killed herself. That’s brought on another question though, what is this new thing that Akari doesn’t recognise and does it have to do with the futures of Menou or Manon? Or perhaps both? Does the fact that she saw something new mean that her future has been changed just that little bit? She does say things are on track so maybe things have been thrown off track? Perhaps Momo is the reason, she’s not stupid she can tell that Menou doesn’t want to kill Akari, maybe she’ll take things into her own hands.
I personally want to see more of the “Fourth” and more of Manon, that final scene had my jaw on the floor, I knew she was obviously brighter and more cunning than she seemed but that was just straight up cold.
