The Domino Effect

The Domino Effect

This episode was perfectly titled “The Domino Effect”. One bump and they all fall down. But at least with the women of The Bold Type they always fall down together. They always have each others backs.

Tiny Jane Not So Tiny Anymore

Jane finds out she is up for an award for an article she wrote while she was at Scarlet. So she decides to do a follow-up piece on this story. She puts a message, via twitter, asking women to come forward with their stories about sexual assault. One woman does reply to Jane and she wants to meet her in person.

Jane finds out that the same man that assaulted Jacqueline did it again 5 years later to another woman, Elena. She tells Jane that after reading her article it made her realize she needed to speak up.

Elena also explains that she was upset and mad at Jacqueline because she felt that if she would have spoken up sooner, it would have never happened to her. This whole part of the show was just sad and hard. Because you feel for all the women involved. I understand that Jacqueline didn’t speak up, but you also understand why this other woman was mad at her for not doing it sooner. The lesson to be learned here is to speak up when it happens, if not only for yourself but for possible future victims. Like I said before, this show always has an underlining message. This week was a good one.

Sutton, It’s Okay Not To Be Okay

If you thought last week was bad,  Sutton’s heart break’s a little bit again over seeing Richard and his new girlfriend. This week really blows chunks. Sutton loves her job, but not when she has to buy and fit clothes for her ex-boyfriend’s new girlfriend. That’s right, Oliver tells her that she needs to help find an award dress for Richard’s new girlfriend.

Sutton finds out while making polite chat with her that Richard and her used to date in college but it didn’t work cause of distance. She tells Sutton that it is as if no time has past and they are just as in love as before.

My heart was breaking for Sutton. Seriously, no one wants to see their ex or find out their ex has already moved on. But to have to see, dress and style your ex’s new girlfriend?!?! I would have quit or called in sick. I am proud of how well she handled herself. I am so proud of her for not making yet another bad decision partying with Brooke. I really hope she has ended that “friendship”.

Kat, The Cheater?

While Adena is awhile, Kat will play?! I don’t think Kat went out with Adena’s friends with the intentions to cheat. I do believe she was caught up in the moment. The music, the freedom, the flirting and of course the shots!

You know how they say, “Curiosity killed the cat?” well I think it might have killed Adena and Kat’s relationship. Kat does the right thing and tells her the truth, but Adena is hurt. She needs time, but I don’t know if they will work it out or not. Adena tries to explain to her that she understands her curiosity because she is new to this and it doesn’t really go away. I guess, we will have to see if they are strong enough to get past this.

The Winner Is……

I didn’t forget, I just saved the best part of the show for the end of this post. Jane gets all dressed up and takes her date Dr. Ben to The Mandy Awards. She let Sutton and Kat off the hook since they both were down in the dumps over their heartaches.

Can we pause for a second and just smile at the cuteness that is Dr. Ben?!!? Seriously crushing on him.

But fear not, these girls know they can’t let each other down. Sutton and Kat get their get off the pity party chain and jump on the train to go support Jane.

Arriving just in time for the big announcement.

And the winner is……..

That’s right, Jane won and she gives a short, sweet, yet powerful speech. The best part about all this is Jacqueline calls Jane and requests she come in for a meeting at Scarlet. You see where I am going with this don’t you……JANE IS BACK!! She got her job back at Scarlet.

I can’t love this show enough and now with Jane back. It will only get better. Be sure to stop by next week over on  Twitter when I live tweet The Bold Type.
