Summertime Songs
The end of summer is a upon us already and fall things are already showing up everywhere. I thought it would be great to post my favorite Summertime songs. Here in sunny Southern California, where it is summer almost everyday, we are having a late summer heat wave. I am over it. I am looking forward to the fall and cooler weather. That is why I take a vacation in September. I escape to Forks, Washington for about a week with some of my closest friends. Yes, I said Forks, as in the same place the Twilight books are based.
So since it is the end of summer, and the blues are about to set in for those who like it hot, I am gonna post some of my favorite summertime songs. Old and new and all in between.
Summer Songs
First up is “Boys of Summer” by Don Henley. It’s a classic summer tune that has been covered many times. But nothing beats the Original.
I gotta add this classic jam “Summer Girls” by 80s pop star Dino. Cheesy AF but still a winner in my book.
This one has the same title as the one before but it has to have the catchiest choirs ever. “Summer Girls” LFO is a classic boyband song and I LOVE IT.
Since I am feeling my boybands right about now, I gotta add NKOTB’s “Summertime”. I mean its New Kids, what’s not to love.
I love me some 70’s music and this one tops my list. “Summer Breeze” by Seals & Croft just makes me wanna sing-a-long. So sing with me…
Here is a brand new song about the summer by Childish Gambino, “Feels like Summer”. I really love this man’s style of music. He says so much and his videos are just nothing short of awesome.
What’s not to love about Kid Rock. He is classic rock and roll mixed with hiphop white trash and he is LOVE. This is perfect and had to be added to this list. “All Summer Long”
This one is a little silly but it has to be on this list. “Summer Nights” by the cast of Grease. Feel free to judge me, I don’t care. I love this song and this movie.
This song will always make be one of the all time best summer songs. It is perfect for those that grow up in the 90s. “Summertime” by Dj Jazzy Jeff and The Fresh Prince.
Last but not least I gave you “Summertime Sadness” by Lana Del Rey. I am adding this one cause one of my friend’s isn’t making it Forks this year and he LOVE’s him some Lana. So this one is for my friend Javier, Gonna miss you this year.
