Soundtrack Sunday: Twilight

Twilight

Since yesterday I have had Twilight on the brain. So I figured why not revisit this awesome soundtrack, even though the movie’s placement of some of these songs was kinda lame and my favorite song was only used in the credits. It doesn’t matter because I love this soundtrack so much.

Twilight

This soundtrack brings so many feels to me. It just takes me back to when I first fall in love with Twilight. I am gonna start with my favorite song on this soundtrack,  “Decode” by Paramore.

These lyrics right here are just perfect; it’s like the book, the movie, it’s all right there in these lyrics.

The truth is hiding in your eyes
And it’s hanging on your tongue
Just boiling in my blood
But you think that I can’t see
What kind of man that you are
If you’re a man at all
Well, I will figure this one out
On my own
(I’m screaming, “I love you so”)
On my own
(My thoughts you can’t decode)

Sadly, this song wasn’t in the movie at all. It played during the credits, but it was the first single from the soundtrack. The video was pretty spot on with the forest backdrop and clips in from the movie.

On to my second favorite song on the soundtrack by Muse, “Supermassive Blackhole“. This song, unlike Decode, was perfectly placed in the movie. It is the baseball scene and it’s one of the best parts in the movie. The vampires really let loose and have fun. I had never heard of Muse before this song and now I listen to them all the time.

I have to mention my favorite band of all time, Linkin Park. Yup, they were on this soundtrack as well. This is such a somber song, “Leave Out All The Rest“, more so now since the passing of the front man Chester Bennington. I can’t say how much this song affects me cause I love Chester. So I will just let this song speak for itself.  These lyrics hit me hard every time I hear them.

And of course I have to talk about Prom. Edward and Bella danced to it at prom and on their wedding day. I am talking about “Flightless bird, American mouth” by Iron & Wine. I never understood the title of this song but its beautiful anyways.

And last but not least Mr. Robert Pattinson, Edward Cullen himself, was on the soundtrack as well. I know my girls would kill me if I didn’t highlight him on this trip down memory lane. Mr. Pattinson had two song on the soundtrack, “Let me Sign” and “Never Think“.  Who knew that man could sing and play the guitar like that. He is differently a mulit-talented man.

Well that is all for this soundtrack. I highlighted my favorites and I must say this was fun. It’s been awhile since I listened to this soundtrack, I forgot how great it is. Shout out to my fellow Twi-hards, love and miss you guys. This music always makes me think of you all.

Let me know below if I missed any of your favorites. PurpleBrina out.
