The Losers (2010)
This Soundtrack Sunday we are bringing you the awesomeness that is The Losers. This film was released in early 2010 and is based on the Vertigo Comics of the same name.
I absolutely love this film and its cast who really do make this film shine. Colonel Clay (Jeffery Dean Morgan) runs the unit. Jensen, a Comms and tech expert, played by Chris Evans and is brilliant. Pooch – transport and heavy weapons – played by Columbus Short. Roque – demolitions and tactical – played by the talented Idris Elba. Cougar – long-range eliminations – played by Oscar Jaenada. Lastly we have Aisha (Zoe Saldana) who is on a search and destroy mission.
The Plot
Colonel Clay and his unit at the start are on a mission to kill a very bad man. Once they are at the compound they find that there are children present. There is already a missile on the way and when they try to abort the mission they find themselves at odds with the mysterious Max. They decide to go in and save the children. After they rescue the kids the chopper they put them on is blown up. They were obviously the target so they throw in their dog tags and make the world believe they are dead. This leaves them free to go after the mysterious Max and get revenge.
Aisha turns up giving them a way to get their names cleared and get the man responsible. She gets them back to the US and helps them to get Max (Jason Patric). Plans don’t go the way they want and with some hilarity and action you begin to love the characters. This is one of my favourite films and it is one I will watch a million times.
