Siren – Episode 8 Being Human recap/review
Bristol Cove mourns a loss, causing Ryn to experience a new human emotion.
This episode, Siren – Episode 8 Being Human, was jam packed with emotions. So much sadness in Bristol Cove. The Cove is mourning the loss of Capt. Sean McClure (Brian Anthony Wilson), and how does a fishing town mourn the loss of a well loved Capt. in a bar with a lot of drinks. As the drinks are flowing so are the heavy emotions of Xander McClure (Ian Verdun), who is having a very hard time missing his father. More so of how his father died then the death itself and who was behind his father’s death. The Mermaids.
He’s not lying.

Helen
This older wiser mermaid, Helen Hawkins (Rena Owen) can’t be fooled like the rest of the Bristol Cove. She knows the Capt. death was not accident. Helen, also, drops a bomb at the end of this episode when she tells Ben’s father, Ted (David Cubitt) that “We are family” and let me tell you my jaw hit the floor. Does that made Ben (Alex Roe) is a merman too???

Friends or Foes
Ok lets talk Ben and Ryn (Eline Powell). Ryn is going through some stuff in this episode. She is torn being her human side and her mermaid side. She doesn’t want Ben to be upset with her and Maddie (Fola Evans-Akingbola)tries to explain to to her here.

Ben and Ryn have this bond, that I haven’t figured out yet. I want him to be with Maddie but when I see them together I feel like he is meant to be with Ryn. Ben is so twisted up with emotions. I just wanted to hug him. But he had Ryn to sing to him.
"Will you sing to me, again?"

I almost forgot we lost another character this Episode. Chris (Chad Rook), is leaving the cove to clear his head. I feel like we just got him back and he is leaving us already. I hope he finds he way back to the cove.

Guess who is back and she didn’t come alone. Donna (Sibongile Mlambo) has returned to the Bristol Cove and she is on the hunt. Looks like the mermaids have a kill squad. Can’t wait to see what happens this Thursday.
