Shadowhunters – Stronger Than Heaven Spoiler Free Preview

AKA – (Iron) Sisters Are Doing It For Themselves… sorry, couldn’t resist. You’ll see why soon. That’s right Angels, it’s Friday night so it’s time for my Shadowhunters – Stronger Than Heaven Spoiler Free Preview.

Girl Power!

So good to welcome back a familiar face this week, Lisa Berry as Sister Cleophas, as Clary (Katherine McNamara) takes matters into her own hands, trying to help Jace (Dominic Sherwood). I am also really glad that Clary is finally talking to Luke (Isaiah Mustafa) about what is going on. He’s been playing dad to everyone else this season so far, but Clary really needs that support right now.

Izzy (Emeraude Toubia) is also doing her own thing, taking some advice she got a couple episodes back and also kick serious amounts of ass. There’s a really cool, quiet little character moment for Izzy that made me super proud of how she is developing.

The other female character getting shit done this week is Lilith (Anna Hopkins). We get to see her consultation with Magnus (Harry Shum Jr.) after her arrival at the penthouse at the end of last episode. The outcome I think is going to cause some major heart-ache for several characters, especially after she “gets her hands dirty”.

Speaking of Heartache…

Magnus and Alec (Matthew Daddario) finally have THAT talk (I’ll leave it to you to decide which one) and, well, it doesn’t seem to go quite the way Alec hoped it would. Probably cos it comes after he does something that he pretty much beats himself up over the rest of the episode. So much so that a very significant conversation with another Shadowhunter in the Institute later kinda falls a little flat on Alec’s side (In my opinion, ymmv).

Bromance ahoy

Okay, so I’m gonna need to know if there’s a brOT3 ship type name for Jace, Simon (Alberto Rosende) and Kyle (Chai Hansen). I am fully here for when these three start hanging out playing video games in the perfect apartment of perfection. Please. Just… I need this one thing.

The flipside of this is our parabatai pair. Jace and Alec talk again in this episode. It was closer to the parabatai relationship that I miss so much, but it still felt lacking. I wanted Jace to push harder on one thing Alec mentions, and likewise I felt like Alec should have stood his ground on something he said. Maybe their strained relationship is meant to be indicative of their fritzy parabatai bond… I hope so, and fingers crossed it gets resolved soon.

Facing Demons

Literally and figuratively in this episode. While Izzy’s and Clary’s are literal, Jace is facing up to what he thinks are his mental health issues. Jace makes a decision this episode and the way it’s set up is going to pay off in some major drama in the next few episodes I have no doubt.

Okay, I think that’s about all I’m going to be able to say this week without spoiling something huge. Shadowhunters – Stronger Than Heaven airs on Freeform Tuesday April 17th at 8/7c. It’s then available worldwide on Netflix from Wednesday 18th. We will be live tweeting the episode as always so make sure you join us on Tuesday!
