Secret Warriors Officially Coming To Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. Season 3

Looks like there’s no more beating around the bush about where Marvel is taking Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is Season 3. The studio as officially revealed (via Variety) that the series will be introducing characters inspired by the Secret Warriors comic book series when the show returns this fall.

Secret Warriors was the “Dark Reign” era book from writer Jonathan Hickman (now the architect of Secret Wars) and artist Stefano Caselli. The series saw Nick Fury’s protégé Daisy “Quake” Johnson (played by Chloe Bennett as Skye in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.) leading a secret team of young, powered operatives. The Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Season 2 finale hinted at this direction when Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg), filling in as Quake’s mentor on the show, handed her a folder labelled “Caterpillars,” said to contain details of her next mission.

Season 3 will see Coulson and Skye travelling the world and recruiting powered people to form the Marvel Cinematic Universe version of the Secret Warriors team.

Marvel will be sending ambassadors to the floor of Comic-Con International: San Diego to find the most dedicated Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. fans and reward them with limited edition Secret Warriors pins. Fans can track ambassadors by following the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Twitter account. They can then complete their first mission by posting a photo of themselves to social media with the tag #SHIELDSecretWarriors. The show’s cast will then pick their favorite photos to share via the show’s official account

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Season 3 premieres Sept. 29 on ABC.
