Roswell, New Mexico

Season 1 Episode 1: “Pilot”

I am just going to get right to it. I was a little disappointed in this new Roswell remake. It has all the main characters and sort of the same story line, but it was extremely rushed. I loved how in the previous Roswell we kind of got to grow with the characters. Fall in and out of love with them, but with this Roswell, New Mexico there are already adults with history and a past.

We found out Max is an alien and all about his family history in the first episode. I felt like in the other Roswell we had a few episodes before we got the full story.  Max Evans (Nathan Parsons) is now a sheriff in Roswell and not a high school student. Which is interesting to say the least.

Kyle Valenti is a Doctor but he still the son of the Sheriff. Who is now a woman. I do love that Max and Kyle have kind of switched looks. New Max kind of looks like Old Kyle. New Kyle looks like Old Max. It’s weird but I dig it.

Roswell

I also find myself crushing on New Kyle more than Old Kyle cause HELLO Michael Trevino. The man is hot!

Main Chicka

Roswell

Liz Parker is now Liz Ortecho and she is now a beautiful Latina. Her back story seems to be a little sadness. It looks like she had a sister that had a bad rep and she is hated by the town. The towns hate might be wrongly placed on her cause it seems that the resident aliens might have played a part in her untimely death.

Roswell

As a whole I liked it but I was just a little bugged by all the PC issues the CW feels they need to shove down our throats lately. Now every show they put out needs to address every major issue that we face in our day-to-day lives. This episode alone they show us everything from the border wall issue, to an injured Vet, to a bi-sexual, drive by shooting, and of aliens from earth as well as space.

I just don’t understand why we have to felt the need to add so much.  Makes me miss the simpler times when I could turn on my favorite TV show and forget about the problems of the real world for an hour. I understand the need to make the show relate-able but it was a little much for the first show.

I am going to give the show another try when it airs again next week in hopes that all the PC stuff dies down a little bit.
