Rosario Dawson to Star in USA Network Pilot Briarpatch
Congrats to Rosario Dawson for being cast in the lead role in the new drama pilot Briarpatch in the USA Network. She will also be serving as a producer beside starring on the pilot.
Besides of being a great actress, Dawson is also known as an activist supporting a range of influential organizations. Voto Latino, which she co-founded in 2004 to help and empower Latino millennials to vote and influence change in government.
What we know so far!
The show is based on the Ross Thomas novel which is named the same. Dawson will portrait Allegra “Pick” Dill, a tenacious and highly-skilled investigator. Working in Washington, DC for a young and ambitious Senator.
After her sister is killed by a car bomb, Allegra returns to her corrupt Texas hometown. What begins as a search for the murderer becomes a fraught and dangerous excavation of her past.
Andy Greenwald adapted Briarpatch for television and will executive produce alongside Sams Esmail (Mr. Robot). Universal Productions and Paramount Television will produce.
