Rob’s Corner: Year in Review

I decided to do my own little wrap up of 2014 for Rob’s Corner, so hopefully you all will agree with my highlights!

This year had some amazing Rob memories, along with one major disappointment.  So, let’s get that out of the way first.  Sadly, one film that we have waited on (Idols Eye) had production stopped right before it started due to financial issues.  Who would have ever thought that a film with such amazing actors connected to it would get cancelled?  Not this girl.  However, I am hoping that someone else will pop up and give the financing that’s needed to get the ball rolling again.

Now, onto the good stuff.  Here are my top 5 amazing Rob memories of the year!

5. Rob and his guitar

I absolutely love that Rob has been named as playing his guitar on Birds by The Death Grips.  Finally, he can be seen as a musician along with his acting skills.  Now I know that he was previously recorded on the Twilight soundtrack, but this is something so much better than that.  Hopefully, in the future, he will decided to expand his horizons and actually record an album of his own (swoon!).

4. Rob and Charity

Rob and giving.  Can there be anything more sexy than that?  Once again this year, he was seen at the GO Campaign annual charity event, donating money to a charity that he has been actively involved in for the past few years.  Once again, he is showing how much more he is than just a sparkly vampire.

3. Robenberg

One of the best combinations of director/actor.  David Cronenberg just has a way of getting Rob to come out of his shell and delve into roles that are mildly strange yet fascinating, but it wouldn’t be a Cronenberg film without that.  Oh and don’t forget the limo sex!  And can we mention Cannes! With this combination it always seems like we will get a Cannes Film Festival Showing!

2. The Rover

There is just too much that I could say about this movie.  David Michod definitely got Rob to step outside of his comfort zone for this role.  The gritty, dirty, southern accented Rey is by far one of my favorite roles that Rob has ever been in.  His performance, along with everyone else associated with this film, was superb and above what I could have ever dreamed.  Not only did it have a showing at Cannes, but it has also garnered 7 nominations for this years Australian Film Festival, including Best Supporting Actor for Rob.  Fingers crossed!!

1. Rob’s Smiles

I never venture into Rob’s personal life here.  We always seem to get enough of that from gossip magazines.  What I will say though is that in the past few months, Rob’s smile has shone through.  All I can say from where I sit is that I am so glad he seems happy in his personal life and I don’t want that smile to leave his face.  It can brighten up my day when I see it and I know for his fans out there, it does the same for them.

So all in all, 2014 was a great year for Rob and I can’t wait to see what he does in the new year.  There is nothing but great things to come from him and I will be along for the ride with him.
