We are finally back in Bristol Cove and it looks like a few others have decided to come back too. Not only did Maddie’s mother, played by Garcelle Beauvais, return but a few more mermaids have come to shore. I will get to that later. Let’s talk about Maddie’s mom. She is a bit of a loose cannon. We don’t know the whole story of why she left or why she has decided to come back. This is going to be pretty interesting as Maddie’s dad seem to be happy that she is back.

The New Mermaids on the block

We have some new mermaids that had to leave the water, and of course, the first place they go is to Helen’s store.  She is quick to call Ryn (Eline Powell) and Ben (Alex Roe) to come help her out.

It’s like having a bunch of toddlers in one place. Touching and breaking things because they don’t know what anything is. Though Ryn is still learning to be human, she knows more than them. Ben comes up with a place for all of them to stay together.

Why are they here?

The real question is what is happening in the water. Not only are the fish acting strange and the seal lions are freaking out, but the whales are beaching themselves. And now the mermaids are coming out of the water.

Ryn, Ben and Maddie decide to go out and investigate. Sadly Ryn is hurt from this awful soundwave that is pulsing through the ocean floor.

What they find out is there is an oil company looking for a place to dig and they are surveying the area to see where the best spot is. So that is what is causing the soundwaves. But something tells me it isn’t an oil company. It is the same bad guys from last season looking for a way to get the mermaids out of the water. Time will tell if I am right or not. Until then, we have a few new mermaids to get to know.

Xander’s new girl

Xander (Ian Verdrun) is still trying to get his life back in order after losing his dad. He just happens to meet this new girl, but she is up to no good. Turns out little miss hot for Xander is really some undercover cop or agent that is using him as her in. Can’t wait to see where this storylines goes. Makes my heart hurt for Xander as he has already had such a hard time.
