Review: Siren Episode 9 Street Fight
On this week’s episode of Siren Episode 9 Street Fight; Donna, (Sibongile Mlambo), returns to Bristol Cove but she doesn’t return alone. She has company and they don’t seem friendly at all. They are looking for Ryn, (Eline Powell) to bring her home but first they needed to find clothes.
They're definitely not from around here. ? #Siren pic.twitter.com/t462kkjQPi

But once Donna and her crew find clothes, they head to the first place Donna could think of to look for Ryn to Helen’s shop. And when Helen, (Rena Owen) doesn’t gave them what they want things get a little heated.
Helen is confronted about Ryn's whereabouts. Here's a sneak peek from tonight's all new episode. #Siren pic.twitter.com/JqIKLQybdG

Ryn
Mermaids must have some sorta six sense because Ryn knew they were there for her and she knew it was not for a friendly visit. She tells Ben, (Alex Roe) that it is better for her to go with them willingly then to stay and fight them.
They won't stop until she goes back. #Siren pic.twitter.com/LyYmsFDdBm

Ben
This poor man is so twisted up inside his head because of Ryn and her siren song. He is having dreams/nightmares about her. But does he love her cause he really has feelings for her or is it because her siren song has him crazy in the head.
Is this a nightmare?! #Siren pic.twitter.com/kvqsK3Y5uK

Even though Ben know his heart belongs to Maddie, (Fola Evans-Akingbola) he cares for Ryn so deeply. He doesn’t want her to leave. He tells her, he pleads with her, pours all his feelings to her, asking her to stay.
He cares for her. #Siren pic.twitter.com/Xb0oZ297fD

Donna and Friends
Donna and her friends are not playing by any rules. They not only want Ryn to come back to the water but they seem have changed their minds and want her dead. They are not happy with Ryn for being with humans. They feel she has been with them for to long.
They're not here to take her back. #Siren pic.twitter.com/jkPohbs0ug

Sad Love Story
All these feels they have come from past history they had with the humans. A love story that did not have a happy ending. Ryn retells this sad tragic story to Ben. She tells him how a mermaid came Bristol Cove and fall in love with a human man. They lived together and she got pregnant. When they baby was born it was different. This man took their child to the woods and killed the half mer-baby.
A dark past. #Siren pic.twitter.com/675rK4BZbn

I have a few theories of my own on this story. Like is this mermaid Helen? Is the man in the story Ben’s grandfather and that is how Helen and Ben’s dad, Ted (David Cubitt) are “family” like she mentioned in the previous episode. But with only one more episode left in this season I am not sure we will get all those answers. But I am happy Siren was picked up by Freeform for a second season.
