Review: MacGyver 3X06 “Murdoc+MacGyver+Murdoc”

Murdoc(David Dastmalchian) is back, and he needs MacGyver’s(Lucas Till) help. Murdoc’s son, Cassian(Brady Bond) has been kidnapped and is in danger. Yep, he is crazy enough to ask the man he has tried to kill multiple times for help. Or maybe not so crazy, as Murdoc knows MacGyver can’t say no when children are involved. Oh, and he also has MacGyver’s girlfriend Nasha(Sibongile Mlambo) held hostage. But that swings him right back to crazy on the crazy scale. The rest of the team is ordered to stay put. Still raw from Jill’s death, the team is on edge.
The Hunt for Mini Murdoc Begins
Cassian is being held in a super fortified embassy building. Concrete had been poured in the tunnels beneath, so there was only one way in. Or so Cassian’s kidnappers had thought. The kidnappers are all dead, but Cassian is missing.
Murdoc and MacGyver arrive at the embassy. They didn’t kill the guy in the pic..

The Team Gets to Work
Nasha is being held hostage. Using their skills, the team tracks her down. How do you safely extract someone held by an insane assassin?
Back to the Chase
Setting out again, Murdoc and MacGyver track down the new kidnappers. Surprise! Murdoc’s ex wife, Amber(Sarah Sokolovic) is on the hunt, too. Amber has recently escaped prison, much to Murdoc’s surprise. Who could love Murdoc enough to have a child with him? Yeahhh, she’s crazy. The trio needs to come up with $30,000,000.00 to save Cassian, and they only have hours to do it.
Stealing from the Money Launderer
Now South of the Border, the trio targets a man that launders millions daily for drug dealers and their ilk. Using his mad skills, MacGyver opens the armored truck, and they get the money.
Rescuing Nasha
Jack and Bozer(Justin Hires) head to the warehouse. Foiling all of the booby traps, they rescue Nasha.
Double Crossed
Amber has been working to double cross the duo the whole time. She absconds with the money, while Murdoc is content just to be with Cassian. For his son, he makes a deal with Phoenix; if they put Cassian into protective custody, he will similarly go into Phoenix’s custody.
Matty the Softie
In custody, Matty(Meredith Eaton) tells Murdoc that he will not see his son. She relents, tellling him that if he is a stellar prisoner, he can have heavily supervised visits. Content with this, he agrees.

All of the nicknames Murdoc calls MacGyver.
Murdoc’s meet cute story is only cute to insane assassins.
This was definitely Murdoc’s episode. He isn’t a lost soul, or completely chaotic evil. This was a great episode!
I love David Dastmalchian because he can bring the crazy when needed.
