Grail, God, Giggle Gas

Tulip(Ruth Negga) is on a mission. She now knows about the bloody napkin that controls Jesse, and only Jesse’s powers can release him. Granted, her mission wasn’t successful as The Grail has up and moved. Heading back to Angelville, she sees God, and they duke it out after she sasses Him. Her version to Jesse is a bit different than what actually happened, though.

After last week’s shootout, TC(Colin Cunningham) is taking care of Cassidy’s(Joseph Gilgun) bullet wound. Cassidy, ever the imbiber of…ANYTHING is inhaling a gaseous mix of TC’s own making. Cassidy tells a little too much about himself and his lack of scars gets TC’s two remaining brain cells working.

Jesse Is Back on the Job

Gran’Ma(Betty Buckley) has Jesse(Dominic Cooper) back to work, trying to recruit new souls for her to control/consume drum up new business. He dresses as a Preacher and infiltrates self help groups. He’s a bit rusty, and has no luck. Jody(Jeremy Childs) does get an elbow jab to Jesse’s face for mentioning his mother, so there’s that. Before leaving with Jody, he tells Cassidy that it is not safe for him in Angelville because of what he is, but Cassidy ignores him. He also tells Tulip to stay away from Gran’Ma. Jesse’s friends and loved ones have a listening problem.

Tulip Snoops

Tulip quickly disregards Jesse’s warning, and goes snooping in Gran’Ma’s room. She finds that Gran’Ma has many napkins, and also drips Gran’Ma juice(Gran’Ma Gravy?) into a pan by her bed.

She nearly gets caught by TC, but cannily gets out of it-but not before TC offers her a look at his dangle. Yep. It is what you think it is. Tulip takes him up on the offer to find out how to free Jesse. She hears the story of a woman in a similar situation that gets torn apart in Gran’Ma’s parlor. You are free from Gran’Ma when she says so. Only another adept in magic could possibly free Jesse. So Tulip does the sensible thing. She jams a taxidermied alligator onto TC’s exposed dangle.

Oh, and she goes to find another expert in magic. Things go about as well as they always do for Tulip.

Cassidy called his chips in with Gran’Ma, who was only too happy to give him a magic love draught to use on Tulip. But before he can work magic, Cassidy needs blood after his encounter with a bullet and an angry, stabby Jesse(he was doing it to save Cassidy). He ignorantly kills one of TC’s beloved chickens(read the comic-eww), and a late night-pube-from-taxidermied-alligater-teeth-removing TC catches him, and exposes him for what he is.

TC and Jody have him strung up to a tree, waiting for dawn. Jesse, desperate to save his friend, lies about knowing what Cassidy is and offers another idea-The Tombs.

Thoughts on Preacher 3X03

TC and chickens. EWWWW

TC seems like a gentle soul, and a near genius, then he opens his mouth.

Not a fan of what they are doing with God, but it is in the comic, so…

Love the chemistry between Colin and Joseph.

The flashback of the wife getting torn in half when her husband tears the napkin was one of those WHOA moments that you knew would be coming, but still.
