Jody and TC are Mad as Hell

TC(Colin Cunningham) finds out that Cassidy(Joseph Gilgun) has escaped, and he knows exactly who to blame. Grabbing Jody(Jeremy Childs) along the way, they head for Jesse’s(Dominic Cooper) bedroom. They didn’t count on tough cookie Tulip(Ruth Negga, and one big ass fight ensues. When Jody is in the fight, however, it’s a foregone conclusion who’s gonna come out on top.

The Coffin in the Title

Jesse is punished by being put in an underwater coffin, one he was no stranger to. Tulip is chained to a water heater, and has Jody watching over her.

Wayne Manor

While cloistered in a coffin he seemed to spend quite a bit of his childhood in, if judging by all the graffiti scratched into the inside, Jesse goes to his happy place. His happy place is more of a person-John Wayne(Danny Vinson). He hangs with John, until he gives him the MacGyver-ish advice to gtfo of the coffin- and Jesse does.

Humperdoo the Soft Shoe

Herr Starr(Pip Torrens) is teleconferencing with The Allfather(Not Odin, just a Mr. Creosote sized BOSS OF EVERYTHING-oh and he is played by Jonny Coyne). Starr tells Allfather that Jesse is trash and that Humperdoo(Tyson Ritter) is still on course to be the new messiah. Of course, Humperdoo has no real talent. Well, there is one thing…

While Hoover(Malcolm Barrett) plays the keyboard, Allfather(and various sundry world leaders) sees Humperdoo do a tap dance routine. Allfather loves it, much to the surprise of Starr.

Cassidy Gets a Date(And Drugs)

Cassidy, still covered in blood, is buying heavy drugs and hooking up. There is a vampire dating site, and he thinks he has found a fellow vampire. While getting it on in the restaurant bathroom, she reveals vampirism is more of a fetish than a way of life. Upset, Cassidy reveals his fangs, and she runs out.

Featherstone Gets an Idea

Jesse is all but lost to The Grail, but Starr knows how important Jesse is. Featherstone suggests kidnapping Cassidy, and having him film a ransom video. A drugged out Cassidy tries to read the script, but everything goes pear shaped when he is kidnapped by a mysterious group…

Tulip Is Chained To More Than the Water Heater

Tulip has gotten free of Jody, and is after one thing: Gran’Ma. She fights Gran’Ma, and finds that she is incredibly strong. Jesse, free from his coffin, is trying to get to the house to stop her, because he knows that if Tulip succeeds in killing Gran’Ma…

Tulip Dies… Again

Jesse is too late. Tulip declares it is over, then promptly drops dead. Jesse is trying to revive her, but TC tells him he needs to be working on the other corpse in the room. Both revived, poor Jesse looks on distraught.

Who Has Cassidy?

Bundled up and finally dropped on a floor, we see that Cassidy has been kidnapped by a group of vampire groupies,  Les Enfants du Sang. Oh, boy.

Thoughts on “The Coffin”:

TC is still so hilarious in the AMC version. Not so much in the comic. I’ll leave that to you to research at your own peril. HE BUYS HIS TORTURE IMPLEMENTS ON SALE AT HOME DEPOT, DAMMIT.

When society has fallen, and we have robot cat overlords, Tulip’s bathroom fight with TC will still be considered badass.

Hoover throwing down on the sweet, sweet Casio while Humperdoo dances is a skill I didn’t think the Grail needed until now.

Betty Buckley is a jewel on this show; never doubt how phenomenal she is.

TC’s Uma Thurman line had me laughing out loud.

Still not really into Humperdoo’s storyline here. Just kind of played out.

Herr Starr’s hat, though…
