Outlander Huge Success at New York Comic Con

Droughtlander Over As Outlander Hit New York Comic Con Huge

Droughtlander is almost over, lads and lassies. New York Comic Con was the place to be if you are a fan of the STARZ hit series Outlander. While there were no cast signings for the general public, the Outlander presence was felt all over the convention and New York City for that matter.

Everywhere we turned as we were hustling and bustling around New York City we saw Outlander posters, billboards and even buses heading around the city. Starz didn’t hold back anything when it came to promoting their hit series Outlander, when the stars head to NYC and New York Comic Con.

That’s right we had Jamie Fraser (Sam Heughan), Claire Fraser (Caitriona Balfe), Brianna Randall Fraser (Sophie Skelton) and Roger Wakefield (Richard Rankin) were all on hand for the panel as well as some promo. They were joined on stage for the Saturday panel by Diana Gabaldon herself, as well as Ronald. D. Moore and Maril Davis.

Fans that stopped by the Starz installation were treated to a unique experience as they entered the booth. Fans got to see what life in colonies may have been like as they saw all sorts of dried herbs hanging about the cabin along with vials of potions and scents to make it more authentic. Fans also were able to pick up a cool Outlander tote-bag, as well one of three scents, that were made over 100 years ago, along with a a personal leather embossed luggage tag. Below are a few pictures from the Fraser’s Ridge, Outlander Installation.

Just when you thought you couldn’t handle anymore awesomeness from STARZ and Outlander, a few lucky fans were able to meet the cast when they did their signing at the booth.

Fans that were lucky enough to be at NYCC and were able to get into the HULU theater at Maddison Square Garden were treated to the screening of the very first episode. After watching that, I know I was screaming for more. More was followed up by the cast joining Diana on stage and talking about the show and taking some fan questions.

Naturally spoiler questions were swiftly avoided, but man was it fun watching the cast squirm a little.

If you have never seen the cast in person, it is a true treat the way they banter back and forth. The love the cast members have for each other and the respect is reflected in the their appearances when they talk about each other and with each other as well as their collective performances. Watching Richard and Sophie banter is the best. The admiration they have for each other is off the chart.

STARZ spared no expense when they were promoting their top two properties, Outlander, as previously mentioned as well as American Gods.

The installations were next to each other, but there couldn’t have been more of a different feel between the two. More on the American Gods installation later.

Are you excited for Outlander coming back? What do you want to see in the upcoming season? We want to hear all about it in the comments below.
