Castle Vet Nathan Fillion Returns to ABC in The Rookie
AMAZING News Fandemaniacs! My Castle heart just made a huge jump because our beloved Nathan Fillion returns to ABC in the new show The Rookie!
It will be Nathans first full-time TV gig since Castle ended two years ago and I’m hooked to see him on our screens again!
Ahead of its “Upfront” presentation next Wednesday (we will keep you up to date about that of course), ABC unveiled the first image and teaser promo for The Rookie, the police procedural starring Fillion. Who scored a straight-to-series order last October.

What do we know so far?
ABC released the following logline for the show:
Starting over isn’t easy, especially for small town guy John Nolan (Nathan Fillion) who, after a life-altering incident, is pursuing his dream of being an LAPD officer. As the force’s oldest rookie, he’s met with skepticism from some higher-ups who see him as just a walking midlife crisis. If he can’t keep up with the young cops and the criminals, he’ll be risking lives including his own. But if he can use his life experience, determination and sense of humor to give him an edge, he may just become a success in this new chapter of his life.
To be honest, this synopsis already has me on the edge of my seat!

Melissa O’Neil as Lucy:
O’Neil will cover the role of Lucy, an LAPD rookie who is intelligent, confident, tough and compassionate. She hails from a family of law-breakers, and is the first member of her brood to choose an honest, respectable path. During Season 1 of The Rookie, a budding romance develops between her and Fillion’s character, John Nolan.

Afton Williamson as Talia Bishop:
Williamson will play Talia Bishop, a newly promoted training officer who is assigned to work alongside John Nolan.
The cast also includes the following actors/actresses:

Nathan Fillion’s former Castle boss Alexi Hawley serves as the showrunner of The Rookie.
