My Isekai Life “Trying Out A Party” Review

My Isekai Life “Trying Out A Party” is the second episode of the My Isekai Life anime. Following the action packed episode 1 this episode takes a bit more of a casual pace, though it doesn’t slow down entirely, just a bit. Yuji shows up in a new town to pick up some work from thee board but as it turns out he’s put in a request to become a member of a Party. His party consists of Rodis, Tina and Lisa. This episode establishes a part of Yuji’s history, whilst showing more of him being a typical worker in Japan. Whilst also showing part of what happened when he first showed up in the world a week ago, for all intents and purposes he’s very new. Rodis typically turns out to be shady, plotting villain but he doesn’t last long. With Yuji’s Slimes and Proud Wolf keeping an eye on everything he’s able to put a stop to Rodis and the bandits he’s working with pretty quickly. He decides that the girls are trustworthy enough and uses his magic to set up camp instead of staying hidden.

Getting Better

This episode definitely had some aspects of character building, it wasn’t obvious but it was there. Seems to me that Yuji’s attitude is the way that it is because all of his personality has been beaten out of him from having to overwork all the time back home. Whilst it’s subtle, it’s there and it’s hinted at that he’s not changed at all since coming to this world. I think that’s why I like this particular Isekai, he’s not a new person just because he’s in a new world, Yuji is the same and is just as nonplussed by everything as he would be back home. Yes, he’s OP, but I’ve got a feeling that the OP-ness of our main character may be put on hold soon.

Either way, I’m enjoying it, I’m not a huge fan of Isekai’s but this one is cute and fun.
