Music Monday: Mixtape Tour 2019

Mixtape Tour

Mixtape Tour 2019

Last week NKOTB announced the Mixtape Tour 2019 that is jam packed with awesomeness. The line up for this tour is a random mix of performers, but it couldn’t be more epic. Since I am a total fangirl for pretty much everyone on this tour, I figured I would break down some of my favorite songs by each performer.

NKOTB

I have been a been a blockhead since I was like 12 years old. I will always love me some New Kids on The Block. Granted they are far from being kids anymore. But it’s like they grow up with us. I honestly still have my same favorite crush. I will always be a Danny Wood girl, but that being said my tastes have changed as I have gotten older. Now I have a little crush on Donnie and Joey but Danny will always have my heart.

Enough of that stuff, let’s get down to the music. Did you know that New Kids released a new song this week too? Well if you didn’t ,here it is. Its called “80’s Baby” and cause they love for us fans to sing along, this video is complete with lyrics.  Featured on the song are all the special guests from the tour. I like it, it’s a fun song.

I am gonna be honest and tell you I love every damn song this group has ever had. So trying to pick my favorites is like picking my favorite shade of purple. I just can’t do it cause I love them all. But here are my a few of my favorites.

Salt-N-Pepa

Can’t say enough about these ladies music. I have listened to them since I was about 10 years old. I love their song “Push It” before I even know what “Push It” meant. They are legends in my eyes. Salt-N-Pepa made waves in the world of rap. Being strong black women rapping about things that only men had rapped about. I am so excited to finally be able to see them live. Here are a few of my all time favorite songs by them.

Naughty by Nature

I am at a loss at what to say about these guys besides I love their music and their style. I seriously grew up listening to them. I can still remember dancing to their songs on the bus after football games. Their music makes me miss HipHop music. They made some of the best hiphop songs of all time.

Debbie and Tiffany

When we all wanted big bangs and jean jackets. Back when loves songs were about love and feeling; not about sex and drugs. These ladies were the Britney and Christina of the 80’s. Sweet, fun, and innocent times of growing up in the 80’s. Debbie Gibson and Tiffany were the best of the best back then. “Only In My Dreams” is still one of my all time favorite songs ever. I still know all the words too and even remember the video. Tiffany was the girl we all loved to hate cause she was dating a New Kid. Getting to see these two on stage is like a dream come true.

I am all excited for this concert and I need to calm my 80’s fangirl heart cause I gotta wait until May to see them. Waiting sucks but as the saying goes “Good things come to those who wait“. Let me know below some of these artist songs that are still on your playlist. Until time catch ya on the B-side.
