Mr. Robot Teases Season 2

Coming off a win at the Golden Globes for Best TV series – Drama, a Best Supporting Actor in a TV Performance award for Christian Slater and a Best Actor in a TV Performance nomination for Rami Malek, the creator and cast are teasing us with information on Season 2.  At the Television Critics Association panel on January 14, creator Sam Esmail announced that Mr. Robot is coming back this summer even though a date hasn’t been locked in yet. Production will begin again in March in New York City for the cast.

“If there’s a headline for Season 2, it’s how Elliot reconciles with the fact that he’s seeing this fantasy; that’s the struggle that will take over in Season 2.  In Season 2 there will be a lot more backstory shown.”

Season 2 will explore whether Elliot’s best friend will give into and become a part of E Corps plots.

Until then, we have a few more awards shows to get through to see if Mr. Robot stays on top.  The show is up for Best Drama TV Series at the Critics Choice Awards.  Malek has been nominated for Best Actor in a Drama Series for both the Screen Actors Guild Awards and the Critics Choice Awards.  Slater has been nominated for Best Supporting Actor in a Drama Series for the Critics Choice Awards.
