This past weekend, at the Wizard World Convention in St Louis, Mike Colter opened up on what we can expect from the forthcoming Luke Cage series from Marvel and Netflix.
“He’s going to do a lot of badass stuff! Prepare for badassery,”
For anyone who saw Colter as Cage in Jessica Jones season 1 this won’t come as much of a surprise but for those who might be new to the character, well… 1… WATCH JESSICA JONES and 2, check out this teaser for a bit more of what you are in for.
So yeah, he’s bulletproof… which is pretty awesome. Also super strong and pretty no-nonsense.
He also mentioned that the show, like Daredevil and Jessica Jones, is about another extraordinary person growing in to becoming a superhero.
The entire run of Luke Cage is currently set to drop on Netflix on September 30th and I would heartily recommend checking out both season of Daredevil and the first season of Jessica Jones before you get to Cage as there are characters that crossover between all three, such as Rosario Dawson’s Claire Temple, and it would be good to know how the shows interlink.
The series will feature Simone Missick (Ray Donovan) as Misty Knight, Theo Rossi (Sons of Anarchy) as Shades, Frank Whaley (Pulp Fiction) as Rafael Scarfe, Mahershala Ali (The Hunger Games: Mockingjay) as Cornell “Cottonmouth” Stokes, Rosario Dawson as Claire Temple, and Sonia Braga (Angel Eyes) as Claire’s mom, Soledad.
