Mallrats Sequel will be 10 Episode Series Not Movie

Mallrats creator Kevin Smith reveals sequel will not be a movie.

Silent Bob himself, Kevin Smith, has confirmed that a sequel to his 1995 cult classic Mallrats is coming, but it will not be a movie. Instead the adventures of the assorted misfits who hung around the Mall are going to hit the small screen as a 10 episode TV series called Mallbrats.

During an interview with Philadelphia’s Preston and Steve Morning Show on WMMR 93.3 Smith confirmed that he has nearly reached an agreement with Universal regarding the sequel-series. He also confirmed that he still plans to shoot at the Exton Square Mall in Pennsylvania.

So there you have it, it’s just a matter of time before Jay, Silent Bob, Brodie, Rene and the others re-unite. We’ve no news at the moment about what network will air the series, or when it will hit our screens, but we will keep you posted with anything we hear.

Are you psyched for the return? Which of the Mallrats are you most excited to see back?
