Jessica Lange says she’ll leave ‘American Horror Story’ after next season

Veteran actress, two-time Oscar winner, and highlight of every “American Horror Story” season since it debuted Jessica Lange says she’ll depart the series after next season, and is planning to retire from acting entirely.
“I am coming to the end of acting,” the 64-year-old told the Los Angeles Times on Tuesday. “I have a list: Another stage production, maybe one or two more movies, one more season of ‘American Horror Story‘ … and then that is it for me. Because I think that’s enough. I want to go out with a bang … or should I say a scare?”
Lange has appeared as different characters in each season of “AHS,” roles that have given her four decades-long career a new boost (plus an Emmy win). “Coven,” the latest season, premiered to over 7 million viewers on Oct. 9 and the first two episodes are among the top-watched shows ever on FX
“It re-energized me; it re-energized my career,” Lange said of the series. “There’s no shame in recognizing that. It’s exposed me to a whole new generation, which is a little strange. I’m not used to young people thinking I’m cool.”
