Hottie of the Week – Ricky Whittle
It’s been on an indefinite hiatus, but Hottie of the Week is back! Two of the FANdemonium Network team are at Emerald City Comic Con this weekend and, well, their encounters with one guest made our subject a no brainer. Meet American Gods and The 100 star Ricky Whittle!
Ricky first hit my radar playing police officer Calvin Valentine in UK soap opera Hollyoaks. (His on screen little sister, Nathalie Emmanuel, has also made the transition to big US shows. She can be seen in HBO’s Game Of Thrones as Missandei.)
He also appeared on Strictly Come Dancing (the UK equivalent of Dancing with the Stars) and made it all the way to final. Sadly he didn’t win, but god bless those Latin dance costumes…
coughs he was robbed!
Ricky graduated to playing Lincoln, one of the Grounders, in The 100 on The CW. I think this moment is basically etched in my brain…
Most recently, Ricky was cast as Shadow Moon, the main character in American Gods. I remember when I read the casting announcement I was seriously impressed because he fits Shadow so well. I got massively behind on the show (oops) but from what little I saw, he had the character absolutely nailed!
Okay, enough waffle I hear you cry… MORE PICTURES
This is from TJ Scott’s In The Tub series. Scott photographed a huge number of stars for his In The Tub photography books. Every sale benefits a cancer charity so why not grab a copy, drool over Ricky AND support an amazing cause.
We love the fact that Ricky seems to be allergic to clothing, but when he does dress up…well…
I’m just sayin I wouldn’t be mad at it?? pic.twitter.com/h69gi3Ho1J

Nor would we Ricky… nor would we!
Ricky is VERY good to his fans, and at conventions recently he’s making a point of kissing everyone if they so desire (coughs I VOLUNTEER AS TRIBUTE coughs). He’s also really good fun in photos ops as you can see from our girls Jenn and Brina at Emerald City Comic Con yesterday
PHEW! Is it hot in here or is it him?! Kidding, it’s DEFINITELY HIM!
Mr Ricky Whittle, thank you!
