The Witcher
The rumors are true, Henry Cavill is Geralt of Rivia. The news was just released this morning that Henry will star in Netflix’s adaptation of “The Witcher”.
Based on the best-selling fantasy series, “The Witcher” follows Geralt of Rivia, a solitary monster hunter, as he struggles to find his place in a world where people often prove more wicked than beasts. But when destiny hurtles him toward a powerful sorceress, and a young princess with a dangerous secret, the three must learn to navigate the increasingly volatile Continent together.
Henry even posted about playing this role back on August 8th via is Instagram. Posting a few pictures by @Bosslogic
One being an amazing image of Henry as Geralt. As well as a few others that are funny, yet perfect, if I do say so myself.
I am really excited to see Henry in another TV series. He hasn’t been in a TV show since 2010 when he was in “The Tudors”. One of my favorite period shows to date. I am also excited to see Henry transformed into this character. He seems to have the ability to change into just about anything from Superman to August Walker (long live Kingstache), to Charles Brandon to Napoleon Solo. He is a man of many different faces and body types.
The Witcher
Here is what we know about “The Witcher”, it began as a short story series back in the 80’s. It was eventually published as a novel called, “Season of Storms”, in 2013. Since then it has become a popular video game as well as comic books and board games.
Per Henry’s IMDB page there are going to be at least 8 episodes that are in pre-production. The page also gives a few more details on the series saying that it will be based on the books and not the video games. It will be live action and not CGI animated as some thought it would be. As of right now only Henry is listed as cast, no other actors or actresses have been announced.
Also on IMBD it lists a Justice League 2 and Man of Steel 2 as “announced” not sure if any of that is true but my superman fangirl heart really hopes there is some truth behind it. But until then, I am happy to jump on this Geralt of Rivia train and I fully intend to enjoy the ride.
