The Han Solo stand-alone prequel has officially hit the ground running.
Principal photography for Han Solo: A Star Wars Story began on February 20th 2017. To celebrate they released a wonderful shot of the cast on the bridge of the Millenium Falcon!
Alden Ehrenreich stars as a young Han Solo and Joonas Suotamo as Chewbacca. Donald Glover also stars as Lando Calrissian, with Woody Harrelson, Thandie Newton, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, and Emilia Clarke in as-yet-unrevealed co-starring roles.
According to a press release from Disney/Lucasfilm, the movie will follow “the adventure-filled past of the iconic scoundrel and everyone’s favorite Wookiee. The movie will explore the duo’s adventures before the events of Star Wars: A New Hope, including their early encounters with that other card-playing rogue from a galaxy far, far away, Lando Calrissian.”
Filming is taking place at, where else, Pinewood Studios in London. Pinewood has played host to filming on every single Star Wars movie so far. What an amazing track record!
The movie will hit theatres on May 25th, 2018. There’s sure to be a whole lot of excitement as things progress. We will keep you updated as we hear. We’d love to hear from you though. What are you most excited to see from the Han Solo movie FANdemaniacs? Sound off!
