More casting news was announced today for Fifty Shades Darker, the highly anticipated sequel to EL James Best-Selling Novel Fifty Shades of Grey.
Eric Johnson (The Knick) has been cast for the role of Christian Grey’s nemesis, Jack Hyde. Hyde, who is Anastasia’s boss in the sequels, also tries to make himself a love interest for her, which doesn’t sit well with Grey.
Johnson will be joining the newly cast Kim Basinger (Elena Lincoln) and Bella Heathcote (Leila). All three characters play a role in creating havoc amongst Christian Grey (Jamie Dornan) and Anastasia Steele (Dakota Johnson). Also reprising their roles are Eloise Mumford (Kate Kavanaugh, Anastasia’s friend), Luke Grimes (Elliot Grey) and Max Martini (Taylor).
James Foley is taking over the directing reigns for the sequels. Crew has already been on scene to start pre-production and rumor has it that filming for both sequels (Fifty Shades Darker and Fifty Shades Freed) will begin filming next month. The first sequel is set to hit theaters in February 2017.
