AMAZING NEWS Designated Survivor Fans!! It MIGHT not be over yet! We heard that eOne is in talks to shop the Kiefer Sutherland-fronted drama to other networks following its cancellation by ABC.

eOne sources said that “it’s not over” and that it’s starting to look at whether there is another home for the thriller. “We’re right at the beginning but there’s more to play on that one,” said the exec. If the producer and distributor did find a deal, it would be the latest high-profile series, following Brooklyn Nine-Nine, this season to find a new home after cancellation.

Designated Survivor – it’s not over yet!

ABC cancelled the show, which has run for two seasons, on Friday with the May 16 season finale now serving as the end of its run on the Disney-owned network. It started well on ABC and has been a strong DVR performer.

However, the real gold in the series, which stars Sutherland as Tom Kirkman, a lower-level cabinet member who is suddenly appointed President of the United States after a catastrophic attack on the US Capitol during the State of the Union, is in the international sales. It airs on CTV in Canada and Netflix around the world.

The show is produced by The Mark Gordon Company, which is now fully owned by eOne, and ABC Studios with eOne repping globally. David Guggenheim created the series.

This could be GREAT – IF it all works out! I just hope we will get the show back again! It would be a huge loss if you ask me. Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!
