Class is Coming to BBC America

Class Detained 1000x600

Class Premieres on BBC America This Saturday

Class is a rather unusual (and dare we say brilliant) spin off set in the Doctor Who Universe. Focusing on a group of pupils (and one teacher) at Coal Hill School it follows their efforts to battle various alien forces that are trying to gain a foothold on earth via tears in space centred around the school.

The central group are students Ram Singh, Charlie Smith, April Maclean, Tanya Adeola and Matteusz Andrzejewski, and teacher Miss Quill. Over the course of the first 8 episodes they pit themselves against everything from shadow monsters to sentient, flesh eating flowers with varying degrees of success and quantities of gore. It’s fair to say each of the characters goes on a hell of a journey through season 1, but we don’t want to spoil you guys before the show starts!

I sat down with Fady Elsayed, who plays Ram, and Greg Austin, who plays Charlie, at Wales Comic Con for a quick chat. Let me start by saying that Greg and Fady are such sweet guys who are so generous with their time. I would have chatted for hours if I could but they were in demand so we had to keep it short. We tried to talk around any major plot points as far as possible without spoilers. Apologies for the background noise, it was a very busy convention.

There was also a Class Q&A session where fans got to ask questions of the guys. Be warned, since the show has already aired here in the UK there are spoilers in this chat!

Class premieres on BBC America on Saturday April 15th at 10:10 ET, immediately after the new series of Doctor Who! Do make sure you check out the premiere. AND keep an eye on FANdemonium Network as we will have a Class give away for you FANdemaniacs!

Hey, I'm Clare, aka Ciara or C. My current fandoms are RWBY and The Last Kingdom along with a bunch of other stuff I tend to let build up and then binge! I'm a keen, albeit amateur, cosplayer and love attending cons in various cosplays. I'm also the resident comic book girl around these parts, especially small press comics, so if you've got an indie book you want reviewed, I'm your gal! When I'm not doing the fangirl thing I am a keen long-distance hiker, having completed Te Araroa in New Zealand and The Pacific Crest Trail on the West Coast of the US.
