Valkyrie and Thor work together again in Men in Black Spinoff.

The Hollywood Reporter release that Tessa Thompson and Chris Hemsworth will be working together again in Sony’s Men in Black reboot.

The original followed Agent Kay (Tommy Lee Jones) and Agent Jay (Will Smith) around New York to police and monitor the immigration of all things alien on Earth. While they are investigating a series of unregistered close encounters, the agents uncover a deadly plot of an intergalactic terrorist.

Sony’s reboot is to feature new characters rather than Agents Kay and Jay and will build on the contemporary sci-fi world in which they operated.

Fate of the Furious filmmaker F. Gary Gray is set to direct the movie, written by Iron Man screenwriters Matt Holloway and Art Marcum.

Sony has not revealed the details. But THR sources say that the new project is more of an ensemble piece than a two-hander and will be more global in scope.

Hemsworth’s deal isn’t closed but is expected to.

Walter F. Parkes and Laurie MacDonald are back as producers, while Steven Spielberg is returning as executive producer.

David Beaubaire is overseeing for Sony.

Sony had originally planned on combining the Men and Black and 21 Jump Street franchises as MIB 23, but have since tabled that idea for now.

Sony has the film dated for June 14, 2019.

Personally I really enjoyed Men in Black, Men in Black Back in Black and Men in Black Back in Time. So I’m looking forward to the Spinoff! What do you think of Sony’s idea of Men in Black Spinoff? Leave your thoughts in the comments
