Chicago Fire – Season 6 Recap | Saddest & happiest moments!

Chicago Fire

Chicago Fire – Saddest, most emotional & happiest moments in Season 6

As we all know, Chicago Fire finished it’s Season 6 with a HUGE cliffhanger! To get through the hiatus I thought I would capture the most memorable and also the saddest moments of this Season. So keep reading and enjoy (or cry your eyeballs out like I did) this emotional Season we had with the whole Chicago Fire Cast!

Mouch’s big speech

In the premiere of the 6th Season we skipped over most of what happened to Mouch (Christian Stolte). After showing how everyone escaped the factory fire, we moved ahead to Mouch making a triumphant return to Firehouse 51. We all remember very well (and I am still tearing up over this) when Mouch had his heart attack but we didn’t get to see his recovery.

In the episode “It Wasn’t Enough” we saw Mouch giving a moving monologue near the end of the episode. He expressed what he had learned from his struggles and how important it was to spend more time with his family (and his Chicago Fire Family of course).

Watch the following clip where Mouch touches all our hearts with his short speech:

Severide crossed the line

We all know our beloved Kelly Severide (Taylor Kinney) can be some kind of a rebell. He tends to overreact and get too emotional sometimes, but come on, thats exactly why we love him don’t we?!

Back in the episode “Ignite On Contact” Severide comes after a school bully after someone started a fire at Donna Boden’s high school and got one teacher injured. In that great scene, the kid makes one poor choice of phrase and then Severide’s laying down the law, introducing him to a stairwell railing.

As we can all imagine – Chief Boden (Eamonn Walker) wasnt very amused by all that but look for yourself by watching the little short clip:

Casey becomes Captain

We all remember the episode “An Even Bigger Suprise” when our beloved Matthew Casey (Jesse Spencer) got promoted to Captain (YEEEES he deserved it so much right? Even tho I was kinda surprised he ran out Severide on that promotion). I think we all knew that this promotion would change the dynamic between Casey and Severide but to be honest I loved the little twist that came out of all that. I am just curious how this will turn out in the new season of Chicago Fire.

We didn’t see the promotion ceremony until the next episode “A Breaking Point” but come on, it was just wonderful to watch. Let’s enjoy this moment again right?

Deaths that broke our hearts

For all the Chicago Fire fans out there – I FEEL YOU! We had to say goodbye to some amazing characters and the actors who portraied them. Here you go with the saddest deaths we had to deal with over the last 6 Seasons.

Leslie Shay (Lauren German)

Chicago Fire

For me, it was probably one of the most heart breaking moments on the whole show when we had to say goodbye to Leslie. She was one brave and amazing woman and we all will never forget what her character and Lauren as an actress gave the show.

We all remember the HUGE cliffhanger teasing the death of one of its own during a dangerous building fire. In the premiere of Season 3 we all learned that it was Shay who was the victim. It seriously sent tears and a wave of shock through the fandom. Shay was not only a truly loved character on the show but als one of the rare LGBTQ characters in the Chicago Universe. I think we can all agree on one thing – Leslie Shay will never be forgotten!

Anna Turner (Charlotte Sullivan)

Severide wasn’t really the relationship guy but then Anna came along. He came to the hospital to donate bone marrow to a nurse and fell in love with her. The few scenes we saw were beautiful and Severide was just happy. Sadly the happily ever after didn’t last long when we learned that Anna’s cancer came back. Both of them didn’t have enough time together but I’ll never forget them. We all had tears in our eyes when Severide was by her side when Anna left this world.

With all this said, I’ll come to an end with that post. It was an intense Season 6 but I hope this post will help you cope and get through the hiatus. Season 7 of Chicago Fire will return this Fall on NBC! Let us know your thoughts about this Season and the Seasons before in the comments below.
